And so, here I am, back after almost a year or more. Been busy the last while with a quite a few events occurring.
Through all of this, I have still made time to delve deeper into the current and historic events and what an insightful time it has been!
I do assume that all is aware of the hype surrounding our present year? Perhaps some of it might be valid whilst others are truly just that...Hype. Perhaps it is time for is as a species to wake up from our slumber and start to see the world as it is - a small island in the void of space, 3rd out from our sun in danger of being destroyed by over zealous despots, trying to create a world for themselves, their utopia where we do not feature.
But as I continue with work now, I will update here as go.

The world
If the world was to end in say, a couple of months (knowingly or unknowingly), how would you spent those few last moments here on this celestial body - Earth/Gaia/Erde?
The story continues
And so I have come to the final week of working at my current company, whereafter I will be starting at my new company which is far closer to home, which in turn would also save a lot on expenses for me.
In addition to starting at my new company, I am also going to start in my passion of studying archeology / history. As with my previous posts many people would wonder why I make such a drastic change from accounting to history?
Both in direct contradiction to the other, but are they really in contradiction?
Taken at face value accounting deals with figures, facts and being exact not really taking the human aspect into consideration, driven by capitalist fundamentals and economics. The more money you can make, the better your stature and standing.
History on the other hand deals with people, heritage and preservation. Granted that facts and figures are also considered for appropriate archeological work, but the main aspect is the exploration of the past and discovering new aspects of our civilization thereby preserving our rich heritage. Money is sometimes in constant lack as to source funding for excavations and projects because lets face it - people are more interested these days in making as much money as possible for little consideration of their past.
One reason why Gaia is in the state that she is in today.

History as a story...
When taking history as a whole, one can be forgiven for having Strauss's "Sprach Zarathustra" replaying over and over in your mind. Simple reason being that history is such an awe inspiring collection of events and all of those events flow together to make the world that we inhabit today, possible. Taking into consideration all the people that have inhabited this world, it is truly an epic tale.
History by definition is an interpretation of events, past or current, and of the people that made those events possible or their contribution to them. To this extent, history has been used as a means of opression and segregation but also of liberation and emancipation, for wars and peace, education and ignorance or just simply as an amusing story to be passed on from generation to generation - later being instilled as myth.
Every household, family, community and country have their histories that become part of the whole history of the world, even though some histories may be forgotten others persist.

The first day
The first day of this new chapter.
Ever had one of those deep seated emotional feelings where your every fibre of being cries out for it to be released?
Well, this is one of those feelings - History.
I know many people couldn't care less of what happend on the day, some truly wish to forget what had happend the day before and so, it would not be surprising to consider how many people living in these modern times - cannot be bothered about what happend 50 or 60 years back let alone 2,000 - 5,000 years back.
But. fortunatly. this is not for you. This is for everyone that has a yearning for history for conservation, and of course my ways and views on it.
